Dear BUV Member,

The October meeting was held on the 11^th as scheduled and called to order by President Fullbeck. Thanks to all who attended. Our next meeting is scheduled for November 8th.

Pete wished to thank everyone who volunteered their time and energy in order to make the Donauschwaben Oktoberfest a success.

Our Bavarian Picnic 2006 will be held on May 14, 2006. As most of you know this is quite a huge step for our organization. We have not taken on a challenge of this magnitude in many years but we believe that it is time that we take this step in order to rejuvenate our society and to grow in size. Discussion has begun to take place and committees are being formed. We desperately need for members to show up this next meeting and participate. Bring ideas and please be prepared to jump in and get involved. During preliminary talks, the event will last about 8 hours. We will have food booths, beer, live entertainment and more. We sincerely hope that we can come together and make this a successful event which will lead to many more events and enable this fine organization to be around for the next generation.

Christmas Party preparation is underway as well. It appears that we may indeed have authentic German food served. We are exploring various catering companies.

We hope to see many members at our November meeting. The meeting will be held at the Donauschwaben Haus and begin at 7:00 pm.
