Dear BUV Member,

 

            The March meeting was held on the 13th as scheduled and called to order by President Pete Fullbeck.  Thanks to all who attended.  The February meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather, therefore no newsletter was mailed.

           

            John Nimeskern is looking into designing a BUV ring for our members to wear.  The ring will display the society’s crest.  He is seeking interested members to determine if it is financial feasible in moving forward with this idea.  More information will follow once we have an idea of size, shape, style and cost.  If you have any questions or are interested in purchasing a ring, please contact John or myself.

 

            Discussion was held regarding donating to the GACL for the German Heritage Museum Building.  If you are interested in donating personally, please contact the GACL or myself and I will forward the appropriate information to you.

 

            Mark your Calendars!  The BUV Christmas Party has been scheduled for December 16th at 3pm.  Please contact the Christmas Party Committee to volunteer or provide suggestions.

 

            The decision has been made to cancel Maifest 2007.  We are exploring options for Maifest 2008 and will meet with the Donauschwaben in November to discuss both clubs working together for a successful event.

 

            We are also looking at many ideas presented during the meeting to revitalize our organization.  Much like the Germania has their annual Beer Stein auction, we would like to hold an event or participate in the German community in a similar manner.  If you have any suggestions or ideas, please present them at the meeting.

 

            German Fest Milwaukee is scheduled for July 27, 28 and 29, 2007.  For more information regarding the event, call 414-464-9444 or visit www.germanfest.com.  I have posted this link on our website.  President Fullbeck explained that buses will be departing from the Donauschwaben Haus and the Germania Society to transport folks to Milwaukee if you don’t wish to drive.  If anyone is interested in purchasing tickets, please contact Randy Mueller for the forms or visit their site.

 

            We hope to see everyone at our upcoming meeting.  Our next meeting is scheduled for April 10th at the Donauschwaben Haus and will begin at 7:00 pm.
